sexting

i cant believe that a girl would kill herself because of a stupid naked photo. i mean number one i could never imagine hurting myself but i mean that bullying must have been pretty severe to drive someone to take their life away. not to mention, Jessica looked like a pretty normal girl and for her not to be able to say eff that its my last year in high school and everything is gonna blow over eventually.... relaly makes you think about how bad the bullying actually was. i used to go to school in the states and i remmeber but since i did not experience high school over there i cant only imagine how badly bullying has evolved from one building to another.. anyways, i hope all those douche bags who bullied her are now sorry as hell and will think twice next time...

As for the law suit agianst the school by her parents, i think that is it only normal for that to happen. the parents are obviously going through a hard time and ONLY that family will truly be able to have any idea of what their daughter went through.... so if they feel a law suit is neccesary to try and put some justice towards their daughters death then they should go for it. Maybe the school that their daughter went to really could have done more. However, if they dont have responable belief that the school really couldnt have done much then the suit seems uncessary. If anything they should go agianst the people who spread the picture around and caused their daughter interminable distress.

the end :)

videoooo :)

I like this idea because I did it in 8th grade and although i dont remember exactly how to make it, I think with a couple lessons i could remember... i think it would be a fun idea as long as it wouldnt get too complicated and really just be for the fun of it because making videos can be very entertaining... I have an idea to do maybe like an advertising for Got Milk? but make it very exaggerated and funny but im not sure about that... and i would be working with heather and maybe just random people.

facebook

well I understand that people have been putting things up on facebook like pictures or videos of teachers or students.... and honestly as long as the tecaher os student isnt getting changed or fulfilling bathroom duties.... it should NOT matter if those toings are put on facebook.. if its really nothing wrong then whats the point... and especially in this school teachers (ms jenny) are so nosiey and LOVE to get into peoples lives (without considering the fact that they added them with TRUST) they still like to get involved and spread things showing us a perfect example of tattle tales... im sure we like to look up to that.. anyways if this means that facebook should be blocked.. thats ridiculous... i mean of course if a teaher uses the computer lab and says do not go on facebook well you just need to respect her wishes and if you get caught theirs a punishment.. but as for banishing facebook, it should not happen.. what if a student needs to use it for homework or just simply check it at lunch when they have noting else to do... we HAVE used facebook before for homework like to pass our bloggers urls and i have used it for yearbook class.. but seriously they have gone way over the top with trying to contorl this school and im sure there are other areas who need controling other than facebook...

Technology

Technology basically grew up with me. When I was born I think the first computer came out and it was huge!! I don't think I had contact with a computer until I was in 2nd or 3rd grade. However, color TV was of course everywhere at this time and cameras as well. I don't think digital cameras came out until around maybe the 6th grade but I know I didnt purchase one right away. The radio was also present and I remember it was very popular(more than today). I also remember my teachers using TV (like the news) and documentaries on VHS to show us important information.

In elementary school (although the computers were nothing like they are today) we still did things on there like type to learn and a bunch of educational stuff; just to try familiarize with computers. However, throughout the years technology has obviously gotten much better and faster!! Compared to the computers before and now, there are so many differences, like speed quality, memory space, and programs like windows and vista. The list goes on and on.

I also remember in Mr. Dave's class we worked on photoshopping teachers. It was actually really fun and we created some weird looking people. I also loved, back in my school in the states, making videos on windows media maker or whatever its called and we would go around campus during the period and film whatever our video was about. We did a day in the life of so and so. I believe my experience with technology in school was and is okay, maybe it could be practiced more but I honestly don't know exactly how. Maybe, just the basic of the internet, things we should know for internet usages and how to fix basic problems. As for using technology in other classes I think we should watch videos or anything that helps us remember information because honestly power points are not THAT helpful.

rodo project

This assignment at first I thought was going to be super hard however it was not as hard as I expected it to be. Even though I found using macromedia flash a little difficult to understand, at the end I realized that you just need some practice and the simple stuff really is just simple. I also noticed that others were able to do many other effects that I did not find but I think I just wanted to conquer the easy stuff first. I think that my action did not include alot of moving and thats also why it doesnt look as cool so I think next year seniors should be recommended to do an action that requires big movements.

flash media

Flash media was an interesting program to learn. It took lots of time and careful instructions. I swear our class would scream “Mr. Pickett!” every 2 seconds. The hardest part, although there were many difficulties, was being able to make everything work together. For example, I did not know how to put in a background and what exactly key frames would do to your project. Fortunately our teacher was very helpful and was always there to aid us during lunch, after school, and in class. However, if I were to change anything about my flash animation, I would probably change my idea. Even though my idea was original, I would have liked to make my animation more entertaining. My idea was a train going by each season of the year and my tween was a smoke cloud coming out every 5 seconds or so. My background music was a train sound, I could have picked a song or something but I felt a train sound was more appropriate. However, I am very happy with my end result, especially because at the end I had a better understanding of how to use macromedia flash.

Family Tree

In my family we do not really have family reunions.. well not officially. This is because our family is so spread out that its almost impossible to get everyone together. For example, my dads family is in Guadalajara or in Vallarta which isnt that bad but still they dont reallu organize a gathering. However, my moms family lives in the U.S. and they are more in on I guess what you could say "family time". Even though we do not have official reuinons in which we make flyers or send out emails about a get together, we do like to go all out for thanksgiving. The "tradition" for many years has always been going to my Uncle Mikes house and having 3 different kinds of turkey and like 100 different types of pies to

get fat on. Then there is regular potatoes, baked potatoes, and potatoe salad, since alot of us our picky eaters. Not ALL of the fmaily is able to attend since I have an uncle and some cousins living in North Dakota, but the majority of my moms family is always there and ready to eat. My aunts and cousins come in from California and usually stay at my uncle Mikes. We will usually all arive there sometime in the afternoon and stay untill dusk. The kids will play outside since the backyard is huge or play with the giant dogs they have. The adults will gossip in the kitchen and eat all day. I used to be the one playing with the dogs and outside the whole day but now I do a little of both because its hilarious to hear the adults gossiping while drunk! :)

My family tree picture

I selected this tree mainly beacuse it has lots of color. Also, because the trees in the background are organge and the one I am going to use is a red tree, indictaing that it is different from all the rest. So I think that my family is unique and different from alot of other families so the tree represents that.

social revolution

Social media revolution, especially after watching that video is very scary. When you think about it, its really picking up speed; no looking back. It's frightening to think that porn is actually the #1 activity on the web. That’s not just gross but disturbing and pathetic for all those people who made it #1. I also found it interesting how so many people have met and dated over the internet because a have a family member who did that, my aunt. She just got to tired of looking for herself so she thought the internet would help. And who would have thought that technology (eharmony.com) would bring a man and a woman together, one from greece and the another from U.S.A. So in these few sentences their has been a positive and a negative together. The negative being the dirty things someone can do over an internet connection, and the positive being that now my aunt is now married to the guy she met online.

I myself am a Facebook addict. I remember when people started getting a facebook and I was still hooked on myspace with this theory that Facebook looked tacky and was never gonna make it. And now I have 100 and 10% forgotten all about myspace's exsistence. I am actually on Facebook right now as I am every waking minute. Well I'm not THAT attached but it's addicting what can I say. Anyways, it was kind of a reality check to realize that in less than 9 months 100 million joined facebook. At this point in cyber time Facebook is probably considered to be #1 and Twitter is not that far behind. So, what's next? If every year or so, or maybe less, our social media is changing, how much further or more modern can we actually go?

To be the best word to describe this cybe revolution is mind bottling. Not the mention, that just by someone typing your name into google, you stalker could find where you live, where your from, or where you attend school. Our personal information is not really so personal anymore. Plus, everything we put on Facebook for example, is now published for all of wonderful noisy friends to see :)... However, on the plus side when ever were bored on Facebook and have nothing on T.V. to watch, we can always find thousands of videos, movies, documentaries, cartoon shows, anything to keep us entertained. On the down side, newspapers are going downhill and that happens to be my fathers profession. In final word, the internet is huge and will only continue to go upscale.

1st blog

I dont know much about blogging but my friend Cristina has a blog and she always sends me the link to read her new stuff. She page is actually interesting, with the things she talks about, even though I only really read it because I look at her grammer mistakes :) . I expect to use this blogger to finish homework assignments and maybe one day I would like to use this for more personal reasons especially since I am going to college and now I already have one. Right now alot of peoples blogs arnt working for me, but we all copy and pasted our blogs on Paulina's status and that was the easiest way. Now we just have to figure out how to make everybodys link work!Creating the blog was very easy, probably because Blogger is one of the easiest bloggers to use. However, with the tecahers instructions it make it even easier.
